Question of the Week: Naked in front of others

There are photos on the web featuring those naked bike rides and the liberal restrictions on nudity in public in San Francisco or during Mardi Gras.  So the Question of the Week is about similar situations:

"Do you think that you could go nude and join in on those naked bike rides or during the events in places like San Francisco and New Orleans if you were in the area at the time?  Would having a friend with you be intimidating or supportive?  (Basically would you rather do it alone or with a friend?)"

Share your thoughts below on being naked around others who are dressed.

    1. Have you ever run into someone at your Sunday afternoon sessions who you knew outside of meeting them at the weekly event? I actually ran into someone at a bathhouse who I had worked with at a previous job many years ago. We met with towels on, but nothing else and it was in a common area and not the play area. While we did not play together, we ultimately saw each other naked at the pool and shower area and it was all good. Just curious if you have ever met someone at your club that you already knew.

    1. Would having a friend there help you to join in if the opportunity came up?

  3. The B Boys are part of a private nudist group. This past summer Bryn managed to get me on a few public nude beaches. He created a monster...I loved it. We are planning on going to the World Naked Bike Ride in San Francisco on June 9. I am looking forward to it and nervous about it. Bryn will be there with me so I will be pedaling my bare ass for the world to see.

  4. Seeing how I am in the San Francisco area.....probably would enjoy hanging out but not going nude myself....a little too shy. But enjoying naked time at the beaches.

    1. AND MAKE SURE YOU TELL US(GIVE A FEW HINTS, IE: BIG BULKY GUYS, HAIRY, BEAR TYPES, SMALL DICKS, OR BIG DICKS) IF YOU TWO WERE PHOTOGRAPHED. SURELY THERE WILL BE LOTS OF GUYS WITH THESE FEATURES. AT LEAST WE WILL HAVE AN IDEA WITHOUT SAYING NUMBERS ?

    2. OOPS that was supposed to be for Bruce, not Luke.

    3. Oh Tony. We probably will be photographed...hopefully as part of the crowd. However, if you see a photo of a tall, sexy, well sculpted mature man with George Clooney salt and pepper hair riding beside a barrel chested man with short, sparse iron gray hair, a thick hairy chest and legs like tree trunks...it will likely be the B Boys.

    5. Luke, my reservation with participating in the nude bike ride isn't the nudity at the time, but the sea of photos that are taken at the event. While I guess I am a hypocrite in a way since I post these pics on my blog from time to time, I would not want to not have control of my image being out there. Again, it is not the nudity factor at all, but the loss of control since it is a public event. Do you think that is hypocritical of me, guys? I am just being real but would like any feedback on your thoughts.

    6. Believe it or not...the B Boys have a few reservations about the WNBR. It will be a huge stretch for both of us. Bryn is still doing consulting work and he does have his professional reputation to consider. We are hoping that being in the crowd will shield us from mass exposure (sorry for the pun). However, once my man makes up his mind and gives his word he follows through so I know we will be there. We both feel strongly about our dependence on fossil fuel and have spent our lives being as eco-friendly as we can. The whole point of the naked ride is to raise consciousness of the amount of energy we consume...

We don't think you are being hypocritical, Gabriel. In your line of work you have to face a narrow minded stigma of being in the sex trade. You have a license and a professional designation to protect. The last thing you need is to jeopardize your livelihood!

    7. And of course, I don't want to do anything to limit my chances to run for public office! LOL!

I appreciate your feedback on the topic. I am comfortable with the nudity factor of it, especially among other men and women who are nude as well. But in this age of images all over the net (which of course I do enjoy), I would feel like that I would have little control of that situation. Maybe I am just a control freak? LOL!

Thanks again for your candid thoughts.

  5. I never have trouble being naked in front of anyone, anywhere. So, yes, if there was a naked bike ride here, I'd go - whether I had any friends join me or not. I look at it this way: This is what I was born with, there is nothing I should be embarrassed about, nor is there any reason to hide it.

    1. That is a great way of thinking. Body acceptance is so important to me and I try to encourage those guys who come for massage who are shy about getting undressed (even if they keep underwear on). I am of the philosophy that I need to be proud of who I am and keep my body in the best shape I can even if it is not model perfect. I'd join you on that bike ride!
