Question of the Week: Socks

The Question of the Week is about what I would find if I opened up your sock drawer.

"What kind of socks do you wear on a regular basis?  Do you have a favorite brand?  Do you like the novelty or patterned dress socks?"

Share in detail what you look for when buying socks.  Since this is a blog about feet, this seems like an appropriate question.

  1. These days you would still find my black dress socks...every once in a while I need to dress for a formal function. Otherwise, you'll find white cotton ankle socks.

  3. Mostly charcoal grey wool socks...a little pricey, but super comfortable with sandals, running shoes or hiking boots....last forever...breath well and even keep feet warm if they get wet.

    1. Nice...so I take it you don't have to wear dress shoes often.

    4. At work I do need to "suit up" on occasion, but fortunately not too often.

  4. Bryn wears black, navy, or Argyle socks to work. All the years I was working I wore gym socks like the photo. I have black and Argyle dress socks. Both of us have brightly colored, patterned socks that we wear if the occasion isn't a somber one.

The important thing we have found is that you should make sure the socks are 100% wool...nylon/lycra blends can make your feet sweaty and smelly; cotton socks never stay up.

    1. I have a number of pairs of colorful socks and very few solids. But being what I do and where I live, I can stay in flip flops most of the time.
