October 15 was the 65th anniversary of "I Love Lucy"

I am a fan of "I Love Lucy" so it seems fitting to do a quick post to celebrate its 65th anniversary of going on the air on October 15, 1951.  One of the few TV series that holds up to this day.  Are you a fan of "I Love Lucy"?  If so, what is your favorite episode?

  1. "I love Lucy". I loved it in Italy in the late 1950's and 1960's after my parents bought our first television there and then in the US. What a great comedian she was.

    1. I agree. I still will sit down and watch an episode that I have seen a dozen times.

  2. My favorite episode is when Lucy and Ethel decide to refurnish the Mertz's apartment. With a knife or scissor Lucy cuts open Fred's easy chair and then turns on the fan and the white feathers flying all over.....I still remember it like yesterday after at least 58 years since I first saw it. Great shows, clean and funny.

    1. LOL...I know the episode! Fred brings the fan in and plugs it in and the feathers from the chair stuffing fly everywhere. Loved it!

  3. I also grew up watching I Love Lucy. One of my favorite episodes is when Tallulah Bankhead moves in next door. Lucy gets Tallulah involved in a PTA show and ends up doing her best to sabotage Tallulah.
Like Tony said; great shows, clean and funny. True family entertainment.

    1. Lucy is always wanting to be a star! LOL! I like a lot of the Hollywood episodes. I guess the William Holden and the fake nose that catches on fire is my favorite of those episodes.
